Recipe for a Happy New Year

Recipe for a Happy New Year!

Take twelve fine, full-grown months; see that these are thoroughly free
from old memories of bitterness, rancor and hate, cleanse them
completely from every clinging spite; pick off all specks of
pettiness and littleness; in short, see that these months are freed
from all the past—have them fresh and clean as when they first came
from the great storehouse of Time.

Cut these months into thirty or thirty-one
equal parts. Do not attempt to make up the whole batch at one time
(so many persons spoil the entire lot this way) but prepare one day
at a time.

Into each day put equal parts of faith,
patience, courage, work (some people omit this ingredient and so
spoil the flavor of the rest), hope, fidelity, liberality, kindness,
prayer, meditation, rest (leaving this out is like leaving the oil
out of the salad dressing—don't do it), and one well-selected

Put in about one teaspoonful of good spirits,
a dash of fun, a pinch of folly, a
sprinkling of play, and a heaping cupful of good humor.

Remembering the Children...

Today is the Feast of the Holy Innocents, and whether you are Catholic or not, you can still remember all those children who died in all of Israel when Jesus was born. Today we also remember all aborted and unborn children who did not get the chance to enter into this world. So, would you pray with me today for all the unborn and aborted children of the world?

The Hymn of the Holy Innocents

When Christ was born in Bethlehem,
Fair peace on earth to bring,
In lowly state of love He came
To be the children’s King.

And round Him, then, a holy band
Of children blest was born,
Fair guardians of His throne to stand
Attendant night and morn.

And unto them this grace was giv’n
A Savior’s name to own,
And die for Him Who out of Heav’n
Had found on earth a throne.

O bless├Ęd babes of Bethlehem,
Who died to save our King,
Ye share the martyrs’ diadem,
And in their anthem sing!

Your lips, on earth that never spake,
Now sound th’eternal word;
And in the courts of love ye make
Your children’s voices heard.

Lord Jesus Christ, eternal Child,
Make Thou our childhood Thine;
That we with Thee the meek and mild
May share the love divine.

Miniture Camera

I made this camera out of my sister's modeling clay....
 It's smaller than a Tootsie Roll!
 The back...I tried to get as detailed as possible.
 Perfect size for my sister's dollhouse girl :)

For Unto us a Child is born...

For unto us a child is born,
to us a Son is given,
and the goverment will be upon His shoulder.
And He will be called Wonderful Counselor,
Mighty God, Everlasting Father,
Prince of Peace.

Winter Wonderland

I know it's been kinda quiet around here, but it certainly hasn't been quiet in my house! We have snow!  I can't remember us ever having 3-5 inches of snow. Let alone snow in December! The holiday season has made it's way into our lives and I'm busier than ever getting ready for Christmas! We have Christmas play practices (I'm the main part), shopping, sewing (A couple days ago I made 9 Christmas skirts with a friend.), decorating, baking and much more... I'm also beginning to believe we just might have a white Christmas this year! It's only 12 days!!!
I had my sister take a few pictures of me outside....brrrr it was cooold!

My Family

We haven't had a family picture worth sharing since 2008. So on Thanksgiving, I gathered my family and positioned them, then had my aunt take a few pictures on my camera. Thank you Aunt Pheobe! I think it turned out pretty good and Yes, there are chickens in the background. :) I am now using flickr for blogging, so we'll see how that works with my pcitures.

Macro Friday

While we were at the football game, I got a little I was taking pictures of the water bottle. I loved the way this one focus' on the drops inside the bottle. :) I have a post coming with the pictures from Staurday. I just haven't had the time to sit down and work on it. Hopefully sometime this weekend if I can steal the computer for a little bit. :)

Little photos for you!

Curch Building Project part 3

Hey there! How are all my dear blog friends? The church is almost under roof! I think they said there were five more pieces of metal to put on. :) Well, as always, I'll let the pictures 'n captions tell the story. They do a much better job than I. :)

My wonderful Daddy workin' hard.
Kinda artistic?? They are working on the third story here.

And now we skip to the next day...
Dear Rain,
Won't you come after the roof is up? Pretty Please?

The rain didn't listen to us and poored down pretty hard. We had fun sweeping water for a while...
...then someone came up with the idea of a shopvac to suck the water up with...saved the day. :)
Then someone else [after the rain was slowing down] thought of putting these gutter things in so the water wouldn't run down the wall and lead into the church.
"Now why didn't they think of this an hour ago?"
Skip a week or so...finally putting the roof on!
"Hey up there! Smile!"
Well that's all for now. Come back again!

I Am Yours

"I Am Yours"

Take my life, and let it be consecrated, Lord, to Thee;
Take my moments and my days, let them flow in ceaseless praise;
Let them flow in ceaseless praise.

Take my hand, and let them moce at the impulse of Thy love.
Take my feet and let them be swift and beautiful for Thee;
Swift and beautiful for Thee.

I am Yours, set apart for You.
I am Yours, hungry for Your truth.
Take my life, You are all I live for: I am Yours.

Take my voice, and let me sing always, only, for my King.
Take my lips and let them be filled with messages from Thee;
Filled with messages from Thee.

(Repeat Chorus)

Take my will and make it Thine; it shall be no longer mine.
Take my heart, it is Thine own; it shall be Thy royal throne;
It shall be Thy royal throne.

(Repeat Chorus)

We sang this song at Church last week, and I really loved the words. It is true. We are God's own children, and we need to give our lives to Him and have Him direct us. I found it HERE on youtube.

Church Raising Part 2

Hey there! I hope all of you are having a good week! Ours has been very busy. Here is part 2 of the Church building project. We had a big group here last week to help us frame up the last part of the Church. They were so helpful! We couldn't have done it all without them.
 Framing up the downstairs.

 Putting down then 2nd floor!

 The first window installed!! If you know anything about framing you might think this is funny.
My brother walks by the teens framing this window, "Are you sure it's square?"
They replyed, "No, it's rectangle." LOL
 Tanzi sure got a lot of attention! We're beginning to think we should have named hime 'Friendly'. :)
 Watch out below!

 The "Boss" (my Dad) giving orders. :)
 These are two men that came with the group. They are two of the four carpenters that helped.
 Posing for a picture. :)

 Taking a little break.
 Shoveling gravel. Not the funnest job in the world.
 And stacking firewood...thats not very much fun either...and yes, our Church has wood heat. Always has and always will. :) (Later there will be a furnace outside.)
 My sweet sister.
 They got a lot done in three days.
 The next couple pictures are of the first floor.
 Self Expanitory. :)

Many thanks to the Appalachian Outreach!
